Anthony Mendoza is a San Marcos native who graduated from San Marcos High School. After graduation in 2010, Anthony attended and later graduated cum laude from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 2015 with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice.
During his undergraduate years at UTSA, Anthony took an avid interest in environmental issues and joined the UTSA Green Society as an active member. Apart from the Green Society, Anthony was also a staff writer for the independent student-run newspaper, The Paisano, where he wrote on various local and school topics.
Anthony later attended The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law from 2016–2019. During his time at Ohio State, he was vice-president of the Latino Law Student Association (LLSA), a managing editor of The Ohio State Law Journal, and an intern at the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office in Delaware, Ohio, and Travis County District Attorney’s Office in Austin, Texas.
Upon graduation, Anthony joined the Hays County District Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor from 2019–2022 where he gained valuable trial experience in both misdemeanor and felony court. He now practices with his father as a criminal defense attorney and continues to proudly serve the community where he grew up and calls home.
